North African Geophysical Exploration Company, otherwise known as Nageco, was formed in 1987 as a joint venture between the National Oil Corporation of Libya (NOC) and Western Geophysical of Canada. Nageco remained a joint venture company up until late 2008 when it became a full 100% NOC NAGECO is currently seeking a select number of Senior Vibrator Technicians for its Vibrator Mechanical Department based at the company’s Various Field Crew locations. Reporting to:

• The Senior Vibrator Technician reports directly to the Party Manager, and functionally to the Senior Observer.

Accountability and Authority:

• The Senior Vibrator Technician will be an operating member of a seismic field crew. His main function will be to ensure that all vibrators are operational and maintained to the required standard.

Main Responsibilities:

• The Health and Safety of employees within the vibrator section, which includes contractors and clients.
• Hold or delegate daily toolbox meetings within the section.
• Order parts and keep in stock all equipment required to maintain all the vibrators.
• Keep a record of all maintenance performed on all vibrators.
• Select vibrator drivers after completion of probationary periods.
• Have the right to refuse trainee drivers after completion of probationary periods.
• Delegate or train new vibrator drivers.
• Delegate responsibilities to the drivers and mechanics within the vibrator section.
• Maintain and service the recorder vehicle.
• Maintain and service the Vibrator service vehicle.
• Maintain the Sercel instruments within the vibrators.
• Ensure that parameters designated by the client are strictly adhered to.
• Work together with the Senior Observer or Observer in the recording truck, on a daily basis, to ensure the quality of seismic data.
• Ensure that the vibrators are supervised if faced with hazardous obstacles or major roads encountered on the prospect.
• Report any accidents or incidents he is involved in or witnesses.
• Report any unsafe acts or conditions that he witnesses.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Mechanical back ground in Heavy Duty Equipment (6X6) and 4X4 trucks. North American or European standard First Class ticket, OR Courses towards acquiring same.

Minimum 5 years Vibrator mechanical experience on Sercel and I/O vibrators.

Other attributes such as arc welding, oxygen and acetylene torch knowledge, along with electrical and electronic know how/Sercel and other Vibrator Electronics.

These are rotational positions. NAGECO offer generous expatriate remuneration packages which include;
